Devon Turnbull’s (@devonojas) OJAS Art Bookshelf is what got me started — the fastest way to understand what creates presence is to build something that has it. From there: a tube amplifier built at a workshop in Tokyo with @mj_audiotech, and a visit to Karimoku Research (@karimoku_research) with Devon, for the intersection of craftsmanship, acoustics, materiality, and culture.
That lineage runs through Akihabara’s audio parts ecosystem, and through Tokyo’s listening bars and jazz kissa — rooms built around the idea that you sit down and really listen.
